Description Auberge de Cassagne & Spa

The peaceful and comfortable Auberge de Cassagne & Spa **** is only 5 minutes away from Avignon city centre. It is a Provence-style building set in a beautiful and tranquil environment.

The Auberge was built in 1850 in the grounds of the Cassagne Château. Nearly 150 years later its typical Provencal charm is intact, a refined life style and architecture with its fountains and sumptuous gardens. Stepping over the threshold visitors are at once plunged a warm welcoming atmosphere, wooden Provencal furniture adding a personal touch to the room. In 1983 Françoise and Jean Michel GALLON bought this and transformed it into a magical place inspired by the heritage of Provence. This charming “home” offers a truly innovative gastronomy. Sylvie BOUCHER, hotel manager comments “our clients are our first critics. They travel a lot and are able to make comparisons, they encourage us and they always come back. It is very stimulating”.

This hotel 34 rooms and 9 suites has been renovated in the typical style of the region, far from the standardized bland luxury of the usual four-star hotel; the style of the Auberge creates an authentic backdrop of convivial Comfort. The harmony of this style found in every room (all overlooking either the garden or the pool) where colours and Provencal materials are a reminder that you are in the heart of the region famous for the most beautiful cloths since the 18^th century. The handmade fabrics of today are all inspired from designs that are over 200 years ago.

A renowned gastronomic stop off point for the world’s gourmet, the Auberge owes its reputation to the head chef Philippe Boucher who has presided there since 1983. Gourmets keep on coming back for another taste of that traditional yet innovative cuisine which makes the wonderful local produce.

This Cuisine is beautifully presented by André Trestour’s attention to the details of the restaurant service and the wine menu. In the aim of rediscovering simple and true Mediterranean produce each dish becomes a palette of beautiful southern colors full of subtle and contrasting flavours.
